It’s only VitaminWater. No no it’s not another sports drink, but Glaceau came up with a line of products that are purely vitamin enhanced. Hey moms guess what? It’s not full of sugar like Gatorade and Powerade. With only about 50 calories per serving (serving size per 20oz bottle is 2.5) and 13g of carbs, it’s a refreshing and flavorful beverage the whole family can enjoy.
VitaminWater is a line of flavored water that has been enhanced with nutrients that your body needs. Your body doesn’t get a sufficient amount of these vitamins unless you’re a health freak or something; vitamins such as all the essential B vitamins, a ton of vitamin C, and each bottle comes with its own special ingredient. For example, the pink strawberry-kiwi flavored water called Focus, is enhanced with 125mcg of lutein. What’s lutein? It’s a natural antioxidant that is found in the retina and is said to be a defense against oxidative damage that causes eye diseases. Focus is also a great source for vitamin A which is known to be needed for visual function. The body cannot produce leutein on its own, so a dietary source must be consumed. Beats eating a garden of carrots, unless of course you like carrots that much.
Focus is only one of 15 available flavors. A new flavor added to the line of VitaminWater is Defense and is raspberry apple flavored. A full bottle of this stuff and you have 150% of your days worth of vitamin C and 25% Zinc. What’s zinc? Zinc is a mineral that helps the immune system keep functioning. Although it is not fully understood exactly how it keeps humans immune, deficiency of zinc lowers the body’s ability to produce white blood cells.
